Let us entertain you at this weekend’s ultimate wedding show!
Picking the venue, finding the photographer and falling in love with your dream dress are the obvious things you need to book when planning your wedding. Flowers, cakes, rings and videography tend to come next but when it comes to entertainment, it gets a little more difficult. It s all very well listening to a band via their website but what do they sound like live, how many songs will they play, what kind of music do you want? These are all the kind of questions that can only be answered when you hear the singers and musicians play live but where do you go to hear them….
That bit is SIMPLE….
You head over to The Liverpool & North West Wedding Show at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool this weekend and you enter The Alchemist Live Lounge where we have singers and bands who ‘audition’ live all weekend. So you can listen to them play live, see what kind of vibe they have, how the crowd react with them and then once they have finished playing you can speak to them on their stand and find out how many sets they play, what the timescale is and if their genre of music fits your wedding theme.
Live music is not just for the evening reception. Walking up the aisle to a beautiful classical piece by a String Quartet sets the scene for a traditional wedding but most String Quartets also play modern songs with a twist.
Athena Strings are exhibiting on stand 80 and are a young, vibrant quartet who play a whole range of songs, encompassing multiple genres of music – their version of Skyfall is our favourite.
If you would a fun, lively ceremony then why not book Gospel Choirs 4 Weddings on stand 65. You can’t help but smile when you hear this group sing and their powerhouse performance and sweet solos will make your day extra special.
Can you imagine sitting down for your Wedding Breakfast with all your guests and the waiters suddenly burst into song or the speeches are interrupted by a couple of Police Officers arriving to ‘arrest’ the best-man before launching into their repertoire of songs? Your Singing Waiters on stand 12 specialise in just this, the duo dress in costume to fit in with your unsuspecting guests and then ‘surprise’ then with songs.
Most evening receptions start around 7pm until 1am so you need to think how you will entertain your guests for that length of time. Live bands really do get the party started but they will need breaks so you may need to think of DJs in-between the live sets or speak to the venue to see what music system they have in place. The Big Event Group offer a wide range of different DJ packages, as well as lighting and dance floors, so speak to them on stand 12.
The Jukebox Band on stand 112 offer a wide range of bespoke live music packages from a line-up of 3 to a full 13 piece party band.
And Soul-Revolver are a 5 piece cover band whose reporter spans the last 5 decades which means you really can keep every generation happy.
And if you want something a little different then why not combine a DJ with a live music set and book Six15 Events on stand 143. Their Hed Kandi and Ministry of Sound DJs combine Ibiza vibes with classically trained musicians that will ‘rock your socks off’.
