When and Where? … if you have been asked ‘THE QUESTION’ over the festive period then be prepared to be asked this question, a lot!
There is nothing better than telling everyone about your engagement and Christmas is the perfect time to flash your sparkling new diamond (captive audience, there is no escape, so great news for you!) but even if you have literally just been proposed to and still haven’t had time to catch your breath, the next question you will be asked by everyone is ‘when and where’.

But after ‘Will you marry me’ question, ‘When and where’ is actually the next most important question as this forms the whole wedding – it sets the scene, it dictates the size of the wedding and it suddenly makes everything so real and so very exciting!
Country house wedding, chic city centre wedding, marquee woodland wedding, low-key wedding or ahead abroad …. once you start thinking about the venue, it opens up all kinds of possibilities and this is where the real fun begins. Do you chose a venue close to home, close to where your family live and where you grew up, your favourite holiday destination and how do you find the time to visit all these options?!
Well that part is easy, as you got engaged just in time for the ultimate and region’s biggest wedding show, The Liverpool & North West Wedding Show, 21 & 22 January 2017, Exhibition Centre Liverpool – and the bride (or groom) goes free!
The show is jam packed full of professional wedding companies and also has 20 venues of all styles, to meet all budgets – and means you can narrow the choice down by visiting each one, all under one roof, before making appointments for your own private viewing at your preferred venue options – perfect!
And all we can say is be open-minded, as the venue you think you want might not be the one you fall in love with!
So whether you want a day at the races, your own stately home for the day, a beach party or a wedding festival, The Liverpool & North West Wedding Show has something for everyone!
Here’s a little teaser of just some of the venues exhibiting in January – their wedding teams will be on hand to meet you and discuss any exclusive show offers they are running …. and most importantly they often have glasses on fizz and chocolates on their stand 🙂 :

We asked some of our team how they picked their venues:
“We knew we wanted to get married in The Lakes but we wanted a small, cosy hotel. I actually fell in love my our venue from pictures but had seen pictures of the hotel we picked but we also went to see a couple of other venues on the way, I loved the other venues but something wasn’t quite right with them – then I walked into the venue we got married in and I knew straight away this was the one, it was like it had wrapped it’s arms around me and I booked there and then!”
Joanne Fenna – Managing Director (married December 2012)
“We work with so many amazing venues that I was spoilt for choice and couldn’t decide on one in Cheshire and one in Liverpool city centre. We couldn’t even decide what kind of wedding we wanted, big and traditional or small and contemporary. Then on a holiday to Majorca we realised the hotel we were staying in was perfect for what we love to do – party, we could all our friends and family with us for the whole week, married on the beach and party with our loved ones until the early hours – good food, good company, sand, sea, fun and SUN”
Rachel Guy-Jones – Sales Manager (marriage takes place May 2017)
“Husband was from South Africa and I had fallen in love with the country, we wanted a beautiful African sunset while we exchanged out vows, a view over-looking a game reserve so we could watch the animals come out at night with our close friends and family celebrating with us”
Donna Raschke – Events Team (married May 2009)
“We only got engaged in November and we have been asked this question by EVERYONE! I’m from Durham and my fiancé is from Liverpool but we have already narrowed it down to Cheshire as the majority of family and friends are in this area. I’m thinking country house where everyone can stay over night, together. We haven’t started looking yet – but I will having a sneaky peak at our exhibitors in January”
Laura Richardson – Events Team (wedding date and venue to be confirmed … watch this space!)
